Performs preventative maintenance for air conditioners including measuring refrigerant levels and refilling, if needed; testing system startup, operation, and shutdown cycles; checking for correct voltage and current on motors and compressors; calibrating the thermostat for accurate temperature control, inspecting refrigerant lines for leaks or damage; changing filters, and cleaning components using skills in understanding of refrigeration cycles, components (compressor, condenser, evaporator, etc.); ability to read and troubleshoot wiring diagrams and electrical components; ability to detect issues such as refrigerant leaks, faulty compressors, or sensor problems, and using tools such as gauges, multimeters, and leak detectors and using tools such as multimeter; clampmeter; vacuum pump; refrigerant pressure gauges; pipe wrenches; pliers; tube cutters; flaring tools; insulated screw driver; sheet metal shears; refrigerant leak detector; digital thermometer, and manifold gauge set. Repairs and performs routine maintenance of building electrical components including, regularly inspecting electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and other systems to identify potential issues; diagnosing and resolving electrical issues; and replacing faulty wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other components as needed , using skills in understanding of basic electrical theory (voltage, current, resistance); knowledge of wiring systems, circuit breakers, and panels and familiarity with electrical codes and using tools such as screwdrivers , wire strippers, cable cutters, multimeter, voltage tester, and circuit tester. Repairs and performs routine maintenance of commercial beverage coolers including repair and recharge system with the correct refrigerant; checking for leaks in coils or lines; inspecting compressor and condenser operations; verifying accuracy of thermostats; testing electrical systems including relays, fuses and contactors; replacing failed compressors, fans, thermostats, or solenoids; replacing worn gaskets, seals, or hinges, and repairing or replacing wiring, control boards and switches, using skills in understanding refrigeration cycles (evaporation, compression, condensation, expansion); ability to diagnose and repair electrical components (thermostats, relays, capacitors, motors); ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics, and knowledge in how to handle and charge refrigerants; and using tools such as clampmeter, vacuum pump, refrigerant pressure gauges, pipe wrenches, pliers, tube cutter, flaring tools, insulated screwdriver, sheet metal shears, refrigerant leak detector, manifold gauge set and multimeter.
